Eventbrite has published second edition of their social commerce -report. First published in 2010, it was the first company to reveal the monetary value of social sharing.
Compared to figures from 2010, all the values have increased with Facebook sharing leading the pack with 4.15$ value for every FB share. The most drastic rise has been in Twitter, which saw 330% rise on the value of social share and also drives the most amount of visits from all the social media channels. LinkedIn was quite stagnant. The most likely reason for this is that Eventbrite is an event site and the content is more suitable to share in Facebook & Twitter. Twitter has been steadily increasing its popularity and is especially popular among artists and other professionals. LinkedIn is not as integral part of the everyday life of its users. At least not yet.
Definitely recommended infographic and it is also worthwhile to read this accompanying blog post, which gives some more information about how sharing happens in different geographic locations.
Good reminder that it is worthwhile to add those share-buttons.
